What's your setup? I also have a '97 SH and had a similar problem with a faulty ignition box from MSD; so in my experience it could be something in your ignition, especially if you're getting a misfire CEL. Not sure why it would go away though; fouled plugs or short somewhere maybe?

idk it was weird . ever since the over rev i thought i had a bent or cracked valve cuz it ideled horriible and threw a cylinder 2 misfire. now after replaceing plugs and wires and cap and rotor and no differnce. i would even erase the code and it would come back. and then suddenly 2 months later one night jus dispeared on my way home and its running perfect. very weird, i was getting ready to swap it cuz it was so annoying. and by the way its bone stock.

Question.

I have a 1997 prelude, doing heavy reading and Hacking my car bit by bit.

I keep running across the SH designation during my research. What does the SH mean?

I have a Japanese made 97 Honda prelude automatic 2.2 vtec with few race mods.
Does mine qualify?

Thank you , I am new to this

SH stands for Super Handling and these cars are equipped with ATTS. (I won't get into expaining that system. Search it) They only built SH's with manual 5 speeds USDM at least. I'm not sure about JDMs but I doubt yours is equiped. Sorry Dude.
