Default Main relay probably?

Heya, I'm new here. I had a problem with my integra lately. Sometimes it doesn't want to start, and sometimes it feels like it's going to die when I'm at a red light.

I just parked it outside in the sun and I tried to start it up after a few hours and It would turn over but dies again. Could this be a bad Main Relay or something else?

Thanks

Do you hear the fuel pump priming when the key is on the "On" position? If not, the main relay is most likely the problem.

Here's the thing, As a high theft car city.. I remove my relay when I'm in a public parking. So I'm thinking, that might have worn out the groves on the Main relay where the connection touch. Or the Main Relay just got bounced around alot in my pocket so it might be bad now.

Other than that, everything under the hood has been replaced. Anything you can name under the hood has been replaced with OEM or near OEM quality parts. I have concerns about my Fuel Pump being that it was never replaced since the car was manufractured.

Sometimes when I'm at a complete Red Light, I would try to put it in 1st and gas it to go but it seems like it want to die but doesn't. It does this sometimes, could that be a sign of Fuel Pump going bad?

And just to throw this out there, would a 94+ Integra Main Relay work for the 90-93 Intgra? Thanks for the heads up.

Could be your fuel prime going bad. The 94-01 Integra main relay will not work in a 90-93 Integra.

Yepp, I kind of figured it's the Fuel Pump going bad. Since I replaced everything already. I'm just going to change the Main relay for the heck of it since it's only $20 bucks and work on the fuel pump. Thanks for help.

This could be many different things. I would first check your cap/rotor/plugs. It could also very well be your spark plug wires. All of these things are very common to go out in a Honda. Also, its easy to check your fuel filter. My last teg had a filter that was so clogged that the car would stall out.

With a main relay, its NOT usual that the car would "work" sometimes and "not work" other times. If the relay is bad, the car just flat out won't run, which leads me to believe this is not your problem.

Intermittent failures of main relays are not uncommon. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. However, let's not forget the ignitor, which is a common failure for Hondas. I've found that when ignitors are about to go, they tend to stop working at higher temperatures, like while the engine has been running for a bit, but they will start working again after the engine cools off a bit.

agree, relay is a switch it's either on or off. if the contacts were bad you would have problems randomly and not only on acceleration.

common causes: spark plugs, wires, dis cap/ignitor, fuel filter, pump(rare), injectors, timing

how's your idle? is it steady?
