a/c leaking

a/c leaking
my ac wasnt working so i found that it was leaking freon from somewhere by the compressor...cuz i could hear it coming out.
so i took out the compressor...on the left side of it theres a plate. i took the plate off and theres a brass 14mm bolt with a hole in it...a rubber grommet goes inside the hole of the nut...but it was hanging off the bolt not inside of it..
so wat does this mean??
do i just need that new bolt...wat ever its for.
or a new compressor cuz it blew up..
