Default Rally-like Halogen installation?

So I was wondering how can i install extra halogen lights something like these http://shop.wesem.com/go/_info...ln=en . Most important thing i want to know is how to connect it? try the same wires from headlights? or any other option, because i think stock wires would burn...no?or get power straight from battery, or the some box where all wiring comes from battery... help me

your putting these on an EM2? thats going to look like ***. why would you put a rally light bar on the front of your civic? but i guess i'll answer your question anyway.

first of all read teh directions. i would put them on a separate switch from your headlights because in many states it is illegal to have those on when driving on the streets or at least when there is oposing traffic. one option is to have them hooked to your dimmer switch.

they should come with wiring instructions tho.

I'm thinking they aren't even street legal too because it is for a rally car installation. Here in Wisconsin the police get uptight about the wrong color fog light. I would hate to see how they get when they see a UFO coming towards them. BUT I would wire them to a separate switch from the headlights.

the thing is that i am not from USA, so having such lights turned on only when no one is in front of me is legal. Second thing is that i need it due to my night driving in twisty road with lots of trees and unwanted animals jumping on the asphalt. So it for my safety. I will put it behind the front grill, wich is not stock anymore and wont block a lot of light. And finally i decided to connect it directly from the battery, put some electrical things that would decrease the battery's power to the necessary level ( my friend will do it, cos he understand much more than me ), and ill place the swich near the steering wheel.

i was thinking about it at first, but that would include too much trouble while finding the right wires, plus they would possilby be too thin and melt away causing much trouble. So i think independentwireing would do the trick.

Instead of mounting some obscene rally lights on the car, why not get some brighter bulbs for your existing lights. Something like Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's (http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...rstar).

Those rally-style lights are popular in other countries, even on cars.

If you're doing this for function. Why don't you do an HID conversion, and get some fog lights?

yeah maybe consider some Xenons. I personally dont like Silverstars because of some unconfirmed "life expectancy" issues.

HID's would work as well...make sure you buy German-made ballasts.

Foglights are a MUST

additional fog lights (as in multiple sets of them on one car) could work as well...just make sure its legal.

if you're not worried about asthetics...knock urself out...the more lights the brighter your drive will be...

well i am not doing it for looks... and i am trying to find some square light and place them as i said behind the grill. But the idea of 03civicdopejmd is considerable too. But i put Xenons, that means i have to change the gla of lights to klean/smooth one, means extra expenses. And fog lights, i dooubt it could help much...

Lights usually come with the wiring, relays and instructions. They will require a seperate circuit back to the battery, with their own fuses. A switch into the cabin will be a low amp, going to the relay which will do the work. Typically the relays are also wired into the headlights so you have to have the headlights on in order to turn on the aux lights.

Hey, I'm not sure about your model civic, but I just installed two Hella 500s using a simple set of mounts I made that tie into my front license plate mounts. The whole setup is removable and there are no permanent holes anywhere in the car.

Before anyone questions wth I'm doing with them- I compete in scca road rallys during the winter months in western NY. They're all held at night. I have foglights, but I need lights that actually extend my field of vision.

I would go with the Bi-xenon option... much better.

Unless, as stated above. You have a purpose for them.
