vtec isnt working
i got a B16A obd0 with a Pr3 ECU, and the vtec isnt working. i just wired up the vtec solenoid, vtec oil pressure switch, knock senser but i didnt hook up the 2nd o2 senser. the knock senser isnt pluged in beacuse i dont got one. but no check engine light is coming on? what could it be?

no blinks and na its not burnt out.

I'd say just plug in an O2 sensor, but since you don't have one, you'll have to wait. There's not much you can do right now considering the problem is almost for sure the second O2.

that would make the car not pop Vtec
that would make the car not pop Vtec
things to check.
enough oil in the crank case.
vtec sylanoid filter isn't clogged.
make sure your vss is plugged in. wether your using the cable vss or electrical.
since you not throwing any codes and your knock sensor isnt plugged in i'de blame it on a shot ecu

Your check engine light and codes will not appear until you have the car to full operation temperature when using "Obd0"
This allows all sensors to data log all needed data!
your o2 sensor is not the problem you would only get a code for that. Its in the wiring or its mechanical.
Check your oil, get a crank sensor, check the vtec silonoid, check the screen filter.

double check your wiring.

you do need the knock sensor for vtec to work also the second o2 sensor is also important are you running a pw0 ecu if so the second o2 if not ran will affect the way your car runs and there should be a code if the knock sensor and second o2 are not hooked up you should make sure it will set a code by unpluging something if no code still replace the ecu

not at all.... I used a pw0 ecu and the knock sensor and 02 sensor wasnt hooked up. Sometimes a was getting an 02 check engine light but vtec did activate. And my pw0 was working 100% fine.
A simple way to check for vtec with obd0 is to press the clutch and accelerate slowly untill you reach 5k. You will hear it trust me obd0 its not like obd1 that your car has to be moving for vtec activation.

check continuity from the ECU to the solenoid. If it has continuity then take out the solenoid, clean it and test using instructions from a manual. Also test the vtec oil pressure sensor.

BULLSHIT! You HAVE to be moving. If you are not going at least 12 mph by the speedo, your Vtec will not work.

You my friend should not be giving information. You are an idiot, you have to be in gear moving for vtec to work. You cannot rev your car and have vtec croosover lmfao!
im having this same problem i cant get vtec to engage im running a chipped ecu so i have no knock sensor. and on my h22accord i could feel the solenoid click if you were moving as long as i rev past 5k

Whichever one goes with the motor you are using......or get one chipped.
