Coolent/Water Pressure Problem PLEASE HELP!!!
I apologize in advance, however, I'm not a mechanic and am new to the site.
My 92 Accord has just had the timing belts, thermostat, radiator and water pump replaced. There now seems to be too much water pressure (using water not antifreeze as I live in Florida and it was being wasted since it leaked). The water is spraying about a foot above the radiator cap when it is open and the car has just been turned on. When the cap is on the radiator, the pressure wants to escape through the overflow. Please help.
Also, as a side not, all at once (weeks ago - separate issue) the instrument panel (speedometer, tach, etc), as well as the electric windows stopped working and I now have to use the release switch to get the vehicle out of park. I've read that this has happened to other people, but I can't seem to find the answers on how to fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I can provide my phone number if someone really wants to go above and beyond the call of duty and give me a ring....

Is this the first time to start the engine after changing water pump? Can not imagine how the water can spary so high when the engine just starts. If it is the first time, did you loose the air bleed bolt before adding water to the radiator? One wild guess is that too much air in the system.
No, it's not the first time the car was started, but I did forget to mention that there was a hose replaced as well, and it is the first time the car was started after the hose was replaced. If it is an "air bleed bolt" problem, how do I fix it?
If not, any other suggestions?

In that case, my guess is probably right. Too much air in the system. When adding water to the system, you need to loose the bleed bolt first. During adding water, tight the bolt when you see water come from the bolt and continue to fill up the radiator.
Air in the water system should not be a big problem. You have two ways to force the air out the system:
1. Keep the radiator cap open and start the engine. Becareful not to hurt yourself by the hot water. When the engine warm up, the air will escape from the system.
2. Do not open the cap and let air escape from the overflow bottle.
You can also drain the water, loose the bleed bolt, add water, tight the bleed bolt, and add more water untill the radiator is full.

Just checked the service manual. Here is the answer for your second question:
Check #8 fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box for instrument panel light.
CHeck #5 fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box for power window.
Also check #16 fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
This should be a broken fuses related problem.

Thanks so much, but it is not the instrument panel light, it is the whole instrument panel. The speedometer, tach, temp gauge, gas gauge, etc.
Is that the single fuse?

From my point of view, you never want to use just water in your cooling system, it wasn't designed for that and cause all sorts of problems.
I would suggest getting draining all the water and replacing it with coolant and perform a proper air bleed on it. Just having water in the system can cause air pockets because it can evaporate while in the system.
Good Luck
