Default HELP!!! B16A rods on B16B pistons.

Firstly I'd like to say this has been one of the most informative sites I've ever come across. Ok here goes, I have a B16B block. It spun the number 3 rod bearing and the crank is damaged. Now we have B16A rods, and a crank. Now I've never done this kinda "cross breeding" so I'm sketchy. I've heard that you have to skim 1mm off each side of the B16A rod to work with the B16B piston.

What I would like to find out is can this work. Can I run B16B pistons on B16A rods with a B16A crank in a B16B block. Any help will be grately appreciated.

Thank you

ok so even thou the block is taller, does that mean it can't work??? I know the compression would be higher but if I use the proper clearances on the bearing it should work right?

Probably would work, but if it was me, I would just find some B16B rods.

Your going to want B16B rods because B16 rods are going to be very short and give you a short piston/valve height (cant remember the word for that). It wouldnt be benefincal (sp?)

IIRC the B16B block is .354" taller. I would certainly use B16B rods.
