Im getting P1758 code, and im afraid of what it is, help please :)
Hi
Honda Accord 1997 SE non vtec 220ks automatics tran
everything is good, beside, i have one misfire cylinder, that im going to fix soon. til today i got the D4 light blinking, turn off the engine, the blinking stopped. 5 hours later, it started again and hasn't stop blinking, checked the codes and got that one. the car runs as good as always but im afraid if i drive it more, might go bad.
P1758 that is supposed to be the Lockup Solenoid Valve "B" Fault
Now i can not find any info on how to find it on my car, i think it is on the outside.
I've read all the post i could, but no answer to how exactly check and repair it
thanks!!

There are the two cylindrical shaped valves connected together on the top of your transmission. They are highlighted in red in the image below.

Most of the trouble shooting for this DTCode is chasing wire connections between the TCU, ECU and the solenoid. If you are comfortable chasing wires and have a multimeter with fine probes I can send you the procedure. But before all that check to make sure that the connectors for the solenoid are clean, free of moisture and tight.

I had p1758 reading . I went to a transmission shop and they said I needed a rebuild because my solenoids was working OK. No one seemed to be able to stop the check light or the flashing 4th gear. The car ran fine until the clutch went out3 weeks later. Replaced the transmission and now, I still get P1758 reading.
I wonder what the Dealer and Transmission shop will tell me now! I am reasoning it must be the computer or a wire. Why do I pay these people to LEARN their trade and still charge me!

Someone told me it was the computer and the reason I burnt out the clutches was because the solenoid was not getting directions. The first mechanic told me it was going to "go" no matter what I did unless I had it rebuilt, yet he said the solenoid was working fine.
I now know that would have done nothing since it is only not getting messages to the solenoid. So i figure its either a broken wire or a bad plug or comp. It would be lovely if someone could just identify that for me. I can not afford to pay a dealership for a new comp - not on such an old car. Junk yards sell them for around $50.

I appreciate your answer, thanks
