Default A couple questions on an obd1 to obd2 swap.

Hi all. I put an obd2 d16y8 i my 95 si and i am having a couple problems. The first problem that i have is that my top coolant hose has no or little pressure after driving it. I know it might be a bad water pump but what else would cause this? Second I am using an obd1 harness but an obd2 ecu with the jumper harness which throws a cel. I have a knock sensor that isnt plugged in and i know the obd2 ecu shoul be reading 2 O2 sensors and i only have one plugged in. Any idea how to fix this? I want to kow how i can make the knock sensor work without buying a whole new obd2 harness. Any info will help. Thanx.

Never switch from obd1 to obd2! What's the reasoning for this??

You could try a rad. flush for the coolant problem, but its probly the pump. For the other problems, you need do the obd2-obd1 dizzy conversion harness (if not already done). Im not sure about all the other wiring things, but use a p28 since it only looks for one o2 and doesnt use a knock sensor. Also use the obd1 engine harness.

*edit* Whoops! Thought you said going from obd2-obd1. So in that case im with ke98248 on this, why would you want to do that?

My old single cam blew and i had a friend with an obd2 d16y8 and he traded it to me for a set of wheels i had around. The engine idles great and it runs strong but its just the cel and the cooling sytem issue that i am having trouble with. I don't mind the cel as long as know that the o2 sensor and the knock sensor is causing it. I will eventually buy the whole wiring harness and convert the car to obd2. How difficult would it be to do this??

Would running a p28 solve the cel problem?
