my car got loud after accident???
hi. someone hit a couple weeks ago and I notice my car got the kind of noise you would get by having an aftermarket intake. The car is stock, and the insurance is willing to cover it as long as it hapened because of the accident. So my question is has this happen to anyone before? i will take it to a h & a specilists tomorrow. prior to the accident, the car was nice and quiet, but now I look like dumbass when i step on it alittle bit.
Thanks
Thanks

hahaha i wish. I just want the car to go back to being quiet. Passenger side fender needs to be replaced and front bumper needs to be re-painted. It wasn't even that big of an accident. But they did pay me $700 for fender+bumper, just need to take it to a shop so they give some kinda of documention saying it loud because of the accident.

Could eb anything from a cracked header, broken intake box to a crack or hole in your exhuast. get someone to physically look at it instead of us all guessing and you not looking yourself.

if it sounds like it when youve got an aftermarket intake, then odds are its your intake.
theres a resonator in the passenger fender, right in front of the wheel. i bet either that, the tubing, or the filter housing is cracked.

well the passenger side fenderliner is pretty much gone, so there is a good chance that ^^^^ could be the case.

i don't know about that now. a fender is what used at a junk yard 100 bucks. get it painted for 100 bucks. install, yourself= free. of couse the body shop is going to charge more than that because of the labor. but i doubt that its more than 700 bucks. especially if he's doing the labor himself. i've been in a few car accidents in my time, and i can tell you that insurance companies go by the total value of the car. if the insurance company says 700 the body shop has to accept the price if they are a recommended shop by the insurance company. that being said, if the value of the car is lets say 3000 bucks, then 700 sounds legit, maybe a little high, but legit.

$700 is just to take care of the damage, not the noise.
passenger side fender=$40
paint= $200 max.
i can install myself, so thats no big deal.

hell no!!!!
700 bucks!!!! thats crazy. go to the junk yard. pick up a fender, and get it painted. Shop around. Dont take the first persons answer as the right one. As long as the car runs u can do wat u need to do to get the car looking good.

ok if you guys all think its 700 in damage thats bull and sorry bro you got ripped on that one. brand new oem fender plus refurb the bumber and paint. then you have to blend.. plus hourly body shop rate....this **** adds up quick. my buddies s2000 was $6000. fender headlight hood. that adjuster was whack!
im not saying you have to pay all this. im saying thats how much money you should have gotten. at least 1000 minimum is what you should have gotten. then yeah maybe 300 would have fixed it use the extra cash for other stuff.

lol word. its like asking for a fender on an escalade compared to a blazer...plus with the age difference and rarity the cost will be different for sure. there are many factors.
if the insurance company gives you money take it and run, then diy that fender yourself...troubleshoot your own problems and you will feel like you own the world!

Ok
I posted a while ago about my accident.
I was hit on the passenger side, fender was damaged and front end was damaged, everything was still intact and the passenger side headlight was cracked. My hood was also bent a little. Insurance covered me for $3,400.
I had no frame damage also.
They did not count it as total loss, which was at 4,200 I believe.
Just adding my 2 cents.

according to insurance a single fender cost $200, now imagine what a fender+hood+bumper+light will cost?? thats why its 3400$. My bumper just needs to be painted all over.
