Buy a bigger motor. Cheaper and more effective. Seriously.

However, to answer your questions, Skunk2 is a very good brand. The CTR pistons can be put into your B16A. Depending on the condition of your cylinder walls. There are a lot of shitty machine shops/engine builders. Take it somewhere reputable. You're wasting your time, however. Cheaper and better results can be had by buying a B18C1 or C5 longblock and just swapping it in. Then mod those if you really have the itch.

Or an H22 longblock with accesories and ECU....and an H2B kit.

How much power are you looking to make? <~~~~answer that question!

yea the thing is the b18c/c5 block is hard to find and cheap, right now i was just thinking about working the head with some camshafts and valvetrain and the pistons i want 'cause i can get them for cheap and put em in there just for now.

I'm sure the money spent on upgrading your head could be a fair size chunk of what it'll cost to switch to a B18C. Upgrading the head components don't really add any performance if nothing else is done, while upgrading your cams could prove to be beneficial, running the stock ECU will not achieve the results that you should be seeing anyway.

Your budget into all motor power < your budget into boost power

true for all values of your budget less than $10,000

i agree with the other h-t guys.

save your money that you'll be spending on the B16 and try finding a good motor. you can also look in the classified section of h-t. 3 months ago i was about to get a b18c1 from a member here for 2500. complete motor, harness, axles, all the good, he was even gonna give me the gauge cluster, BUT stupid financial aid never came on time.

but yeah dude check the classified section. good luck!

If you want 200whp out of a streetable B16A, win the lottery, then add on your $1300. Also, after you're done, it wont be a B16A. 200 streetable NA whp out of an ACTUAL (non enlargened) B16A is.....insane to say the least.

If you buy the LS block, you can build it. Since you allready have a VTEC head on the car right now, the expensive components are free. Put some nice internals in it, make sure it's strong, and see how it goes. Hopefully, the machine shop/building shop you take it to will do a good job and the motor will last.

Every other option will cost you considerably more than $1300. That includes going turbo and having it last more than a week.

damn good thing i asked then i dont know a lot about this stuff thats why i ask. i have an extra head sitting in my garage (b16a2) with all the internals it doesnt have manifold or distrib. so youre saying i should buy the ls block build that and the head? and even then i wont have 200hp?

If you put a B16 head on an LS block, and get the right ECU or whatever....it wont have 200whp stock. Maybe like 160ish to the crank...so like 140ish WHP.

The LS is fairly low compression. You could put some ITR or CTR pistons in there...maybe some GSR/ITR rods...IIRC the B16B has the same rods. With maybe some cams, tuning, and bolt ons, you'd be close to 200whp.

200whp is just a number, man. It sounds low, but a 200whp civic is pretty damn quick. For reference, a stock S2000 makes around 200whp.

If you're going NA B series, 200whp is a pretty big goal for a street car. It's gonna cost some $$.
