Bad coil or distributor?
I have a 91 Integra LS that won't start. Fuel pump comes on and starter cranks but getting no spark.
I pulled off the dizzy cap and had someone turn the key. The rotor did not turn.
Checked contacts and got no readings.
Do I have a bad coil?

Thanks. After posting this I was thinking it might be the timing belt because when I did crank it nothing happened except for the starter turning. So I don't think I was hurting anything by cranking it. I hope!
well the pistons will still go up and down except the valves wont. honda motors dont have enough clearance if the valve was stuck open to clear and the piston will bend the valves possibly.
dont crank it anymore. check the belt.

as long as the engines not running, if a timing belt snaps, the springs should force all the valves closed, as long as everythings not moving too quick to give it time.
if your lucky, your timing belt will snap from the initial jolt of startup. rather then when the engines actually running at 3k rpms.
just look to see if its still there, if its not, a leakdown test wouldnt hurt to tell you if youve got a bent valve.
