Default vtec question?

ok, well i have a pr3 ecu.. jdmb16... stock
now my car throws a map sensor cel light after awhile of driving, and its bad..
thats kool i can get another one... but the thing that gets me is that my car still engages vtec...

i have a b18b1 with b16 head and tranny. now what i dont get the most is that my vtec doesnt engage untill 6500 rpms!!!!

now i know the stock jdm b16 ecu doesnt engage this late.
what else could be delaying the vtec to engage.. low oil pressure?

the oly thing i can think of with the oil pressure is the line for the vtec solenoid. do i need to put a restrictor in it?

you need 3 thing to engauge vtec, speed oil press and signal. But the wrong ecu sounds like your problem
