Battery light flickering
Started happening a few days ago, sometimes while driving the battery light will come on and off intermittently for a few seconds and then stop. Thought possibly the alternator, or slipping belt.. anything else? pretty expletiveed up!
have batt and alt tested autozone for free if they are ok you might have a fault in either the light on the dash or somewhere along that line...or somthing else....anyone else want to add their 2 cents
What i would do first is check all your grounds, make sure they are tight and corrosion free. Next make sure your battery and terminals are tight and corrosion free. Check your battery static voltage and charging voltage. Also check the alternator diodes. Other than that I would have the alternator output checked and the battery load tested. If all that tests good then check the resistance in the wires in the charging system.
Use a multimeter if you need to dont just throw parts at it.

For the record, you might check all grounds and connections okay. Also you might find that your charging system checks out.
I have battery light flicker intermittenly as well. But I also have a UR crank pulley and an altenator rated at 80 amps(OEM amps are rated at 90)

finally got my hands on a multi meter, cleaned the battery posts, checked the battery as well which is fine, but how would check the alternator?

You have to have an auto store around that can check your charging system for you. You cant check it on a multi-meter, unless you have the setting for amps on there, and it would have to be somewhere around 90-100 amps setting. Most Only have mabey a 20 amp range.

umm... that's about what it should read with the engine off... Engine running, voltage should be 13.8
unless you spend $$, meters with only two leads usually can't read over 10A.. With a clamp on you can read up to hundreds of amps, they work great for checking alt..
