transmission
so i finally got to drive my car today. 1991 civic dx hatchback. i was told and thought it was a 5 spd. today i go on the freeway and thinking i had a 5th gear, i tried to shift into it and it brought me back to 3rd. is it possible it has a 4 spd or maybe i wont go into 5th gear? any help would be great thanks
well the problem is that i need new bushings. which i plan on getting soon. the shifter is super wobbly so i cant really tell but it seems like there is a 5th
It should have a 5th gear, sadly to make things tricky both the 4 and 5 speed had the same tranny code.
Unless the tranny was changed it'll be a 5spd assuming its a dx like you think, check the motor block what does it say? If the tranny wasn't changed
d15b1 = 4
d15b2 = 5
