Default 92 civic dx wit d15b 5th gear

5th gear is realy hard to go into and out of like it gets stuck in there not sure where to start with it linkage is tight,busings r good mounts r solid, any help would b great and 4th is kinda hard to go in2 also

possibly your synchro's are going out.. you might want to try and source a z6 tranny

ok thank u also if the car is off and i try and go in 5th gear its like its not there at all ,i have to jam it in there then its realy hard to get out ,

ok now for an update if i have to buy i new tranny i will but i realy dont have the money at the moment ,so i went back out today and tried to c wat was going on .it goes in 5th hard and comes back out hard but when its in 5th gear its fine just when u go to put it in and take it out also 4th grinds realy bad but then it will go in if i slam it in

Syncros..

also isnt the d16y8 tranny even shorter? i know this thing sucks on the highway, cruising at 4K RPM isn't the greatest fuel economy...

there the same its just the Y8 has steel shift forks Z6 has aluminum

Ah.. thank you... I really appreciate that input, about to get a new tranny, since i drive a civic (and know its not a race car) i think i'll go with a Y7 tranny... better fuel mileage than doing 4K rpm on the highway...
