Ecu questions Smog Check?
OK I'm currently running a obd0 B16 IN MY 91 DA Ive got the ecu that comes with the motor which is a pwo and I think its chipped or something because when I take it to the smog shop it fails horriably like gross polluter so I figuered Id run a CA emissions PR4 and that would solve my ecu problem. Only now Im getting a check engine light 13 which is an atmospheric pressure sensor. What do I do to fix my problem I just want to pass smog and drive my car but I keep running into this problem can anybody help me?
do you remeber what numbers failed on your test, was it hydrocarbons and carben menoxide?? if so maybe your map sensor is sending faulty numbers to your ecu, if it threw that code, because map sensor is the baro sensor on a honda. So that may cause you to run really rich.
I kinda figuered to change the map sensor next , but since your saying to than thats probably my next move thanks for the info. I 'm also gonna have the place I got the ecu from to fix the atmospheric pressure sensor in the ecu because the ecu looked damaged when I got it , the shop already agreed to swap it out. Between those 2 things maybe I''ll be getting closer to passing the next time I smog. What I didnt understand is why I'm throwing a code #13 on the PR4 but no code on the PWO?
