new short block from honda care, sweeeet!!!
i'm getting a new short block from HondaCare since my #2 cylinder was way low on compression(138psi compared to 200psi for all others) being caused by the piston rings. the shop is gonna order the block today and they are sending the head out to be inspected and cleaned as necessary. and i get a rental, hopefully a "mugen" si haha...
i'm freaking relieved since i had been going back and forth with the extended warratny people. they were "investigating" the problem since last thursday and were trying to find any reason to not warraty the parts and labor...
apparently the block is about $3k and after labor and all is gonna be around $7k total. sweet i get a "new" engine at 70k miles
i'm gonna try to see if i can buy the old short block for the core value.
i guess that $1,100 warranty was worth it

sweet....I had bent valves on my #1 and 4 cylinder and cause low compression. Local honda sent my head to get it re build. The parts and labor came out over $3,000. Had to argue with the service guy though....those people are a pain to deal with.......I think their job is to literally rip customer off........sad....
wooow even better news... the head was sent to the machine shop and they called back and said that it was damaged. the valve guides were worn badly and it was gonna need a new one. so now i get a new head, so is gonna be a brand new engine... swwweeeeettt!!!
total cost is gonna be around $13k(thats what i was told by the advisor)so the value of my car just increased by at least half that.

VERY NICE!!!

They can't sell you the old block as it has to go back to Honda being thats its covered by Honda-Care and or Reg Warranty. If Honda does not call back for it "which I dought" they can do as they please with it but I can assure you they wont tell you about that.
Get a new clutch so they can install it for you being that the have to remove it anyways

it was really annoying dealing with them but there was no way they couldn't approve it, since the car was completely stock and i had just bought it from a honda dealer...

hahaha
at least you guys dont have to deal with the honda dealer where I'm located... I sold my CL to a kid and he took it to the honda dealer for an oil change and some other things... anyways after the oil change the "i'm so much smarter than you" tech. decided to "forget" to put the oil cap back on the car.... now the CL is completely fuxed... what does honda say... "sry we are not gonna do anything about it"... i feel bad for the kid who just bought my car....
NEVER will they see my type-R or s2k... they simply just cant be trusted... and yes they rip you off EVERY chance they get...
is there a good trustworthy honda deaership????

If your Honda dealer is anything like the one I worked at you will find your old motor by the dumpster after they swap it out. No kidding, I picked up a few k24's at the dealer i worked at. Sasically good for crank and core, but thats money in my pocket!
