Tire size question
I have a 95 civic coupe and some 17x7 wheels. Im lowering my car 2" and was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good tire size. I figured 205/40/17 but I wasnt quite sure and Im buying my tires online

That's not exactly how I would word it.
205/40-17 is actually too big for a '95 Civic, almost 4 percent larger in diameter than the stock tire size. And on a lowered car, there's a good possibility they may rub - in addition to the usual disadvantages of oversized tires (poorer acceleration, and inaccuracy of the speedometer/odometer). However, 205/40-17 is the smallest 17" tire size commonly available. So if you're using 17" wheels on that car, you're stuck getting the oversized 205/40-17; think of it as the option that is the "least bad". This is why 17" wheels are not really a good idea for cars which came with smaller tires, especially if they've been lowered.
