Default Replacing keyless entry batteries?

I was thinking about changing the batteries and I asked some guy when I got my oil change at honda. He told me it costed 5 dollars and that I shouldn't do it myself or else I mess up some wiring or something. So what kind of battery does it involve? It's not that hard is it?

So, if the batteries die, you expect him to buy a whole new key??????

lol thx av911 for that. Looks familiar like it came from a page from my manual. Have you personally replaced yours, it doesn't look hard. But I heard the service tech people saying that I could mess it up. Where do you get the batteries from? I searched some stores and I think only radio shack has it for like 5$ so I might as well let them do it at honda.

No, I haven't changed mine but I have taken the battery out before. It's like changing a battery on a watch or the CMOS battery in your computer.

Buy the right battery (CR1616) and you'll be fine. Any electronic store should have them...Radio Shack, Fry's, Best Buy, even Walgreens should have them.
