Need help on SOHC Turbo Kit
So I have a strong d15b7 I want to boost and I was wonderin, what I should go with ? should i get a complete kit or diffrent parts and make a kit, should I go gretty ? stuff like that. Anything and everything will help thanks
. Dont know if this matters but I wanna be able to hear my BOV and the whistle of my turbo spoolin. A cheap kit I saw a guy had u couldnt hear the BOV and the turbo was almost silent. I WANT to spend bout 1500 on the kit or parts. But if a few hundred more get me that much more performance / quality. ill spend it. Thanks I appreciate the help

Its Greddy
If you piece a kit together just make sure everything works well. 1500 might get you a decent pieced together kit with used parts.

making note that your signature says "I cant wait to eat that WRX" you should ask what are your performance goals, Daily driver/track/autoX Car? and "What am I gonna drive when My **** breaks" Because D15B7 rods are pencil thin and won't be able to handle much more than 6-7PSI on a regular basis before they snap like twigs.
If you have $1500, take $500 of it and do a Z6 swap *More displacement and much stronger internals*, then take the other $1000 and go go http://www.homemadeturbo.com and piece together a kit that will work for you.

Ok it so happens I just got my girl an 92 SI eg, so I can swap her if need be, so is 5lbs safe to run in a b7 then ? and this is just a speed increase for now. I wanna go b18c1 sooner or later.
well it depends how much your willing to think fully about what you want every part to do, and make shur that that part will work side-by-side with another part if you want to pick your parts out. or you can take the easy way out and get a kit but keep in mind not every kit comes with evvrey thing you need, the one kit that i have seen that comes "very" close to having everythin would be the Drag turbo kit.
if you want a the list that it took me to get my D-series boosted just hit me up it has everything and a couple of tips.

D15b7 will hold 5-6PSI no problem, but the money is best spent elsewhere in my opinion, a turbo B7 with 5-6psi may net you 130-140hp, while a stock D16Z6 is 125 to start out with and has a much stronger engine.
If you look hard enough you can find a D16Z6 or D16A6 for sub $200 and mount your trans to if it you want to.

just save ur motor for an ls b18b1 and boost it. ls motor are cheap now a day, u can pick up a ls longblock and tranny for about $700. boost that **** and u'll be more happy than boosting a b7. but if u don't want, than get the z6, it's a whole lot better to boost the z6.
The d16z6's specs: http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/specs.htm
HP: 125@6600
TQ: 106@5200
It came in the 92-95 honda civic ex coupe and the del sol si.
Much better choice than boosting a weak d15b7.. the jdm d15b counterpart is much better to use than the b7 IMO too...
