Default Another Idle thread "sorry" :)

All, ok just brought this 98 5 door hatch VTI and the idle is sitting at around 1500 "very annoying". I have done the Haynes reomended, get engine up to temp, turn off, remove the plug to the sensor sitting on top of the throttle body, started her up and turn the throttle screw to bring down revs but found this to be turned as far clockwise as possible "so not able to drop down revs at all". Got a guy looking at it next week and he said he will clean out throttle body and stick diagnostics on to check. Could this be caused by the after market supersprint back box on the car? Not being mechanicaly minded I'm just trying to get an idea of what the problem may be so the garage do not rip me off. How hard should it be for a good mechanic to solve a problem like this. Thanks in advance

I will check mate, did look the other day and it didn't seem to be taught "pretty slack" which I thought was a little strange but as said not being mechanically minded I could not be sure. Thnaks anyway, going into garage Tuesday so I'll see what they say it is
