ok so i just recently bought a 92 vx and a few days afer i bought it i found and open line connect to a vaccum hose which was causing my idle to bounce so i replaced the hose and the idle droped from where it was (bouncing from 800 to 1100) to about 5 sometimes 600 after the car has warmed up i cleaned the iacv with carb cleaner replaced it and bled the cooling system stil no hlep ive read a couple of post where people say they unpluged the iacv and there car ran fine but when i unplung mine the car wont start or if its already running it shuts off
is there anything else in paticular i should check
also when i step on the brakes after i let off the idle comes up a bit but then drops down also when the a/c is on it comes up a bit too
any halp would be appreciated

check the thermo wax valve... its located right under the throttle body.... that was what was rong with my car, i had the same problem.... take your throttle body off and shake it... if it make a rattling noise then it could be the thermo wax valve...... it has a line going to one side then on the other side there is a backing plate... take the plate off (two screws ) and there will be a plastic piece that holds a piston type piece of metal that is suppose to be threaded into the valve... if it is loose or unthreaded just thread it back in ( be careful not to break the plastic ) .... that was the problem with my car... i threaded it back in and it completely fixed my problem
make sure you don't have a leaking egr valve, your air filter isn't clogged at all, make sure your fuel pump is good and fuel injectors are good. check timing too.
yeah i forgot about the EGR make sure thats not leaking..... get some throttle body cleaner and start your car.... spray the cleaner around the motor where you want to inspect for leaks like the throttle body, vacuum hoses, egr valve etc. if you hit a vacuum leak with the cleaner then the car will try to stall, then youll now what it is
on the intake manifold closer to the head.... id show you a picture but im at work and they have stupid limitations on the computers... just go to google or something and click images and put in civic egr valve

From what you typed i think you said it now idles at 5-600 rpm, and comes up when you turn on the ac or pump the brakes. So, whats the issue?
i am pretty sure that isn't low. However, there is a procedure to turn it up. There should be a screw on the tb, that determines how much air gets in for the idle control valve. You have to unhook the valve though i beleive, it's been a while. With that siad, i think your idle is fine, unless it's stalling out, they do idle really low.

see thats what i thought so isnt 500 a little low then and sould it come up when i turn the a/c on or pump the breaks?
your gonna want to do what coneheadsracing said... your gonna want to adjust the idle.....like he said it should be a valve that looks like a flat head screw ... just take you flat head and turn the screw until your idle sits around 750-800 your gonna have to leave your car on for this obviously

ive been looking for that screw and cant seem to find it its ontop of the tb you right? ill go take a pic and if you could point it out to me thatd help
take of the intake and position your self to where your looking right into the TB now there should be a little screw looking thing with a spot to put a flat head screwdriver in
