Another Keyless entry problem (With a twist!)
So here's the drill. I searched through all of the problems that everyone else has had with their keyless entry systems, and couldn't find one that answered my problem.
I have a 2000 Acura EL. The problem is that one day, my keyless entry system just stopped working. I know about the problem with the aftermarket deck in the earlier models. I've had a Sony deck in my car for almost the entire time I've owned it (bought it new). Never had a problem. All of a sudden, the system stopped working. The remotes still blink when buttons are pressed, and the power doorlock system still works fine.
I tried to re-program the remotes, and it's as if the brain in the car is just not picking up any signal at all (tried new batteries and different remotes). I'm at the end of my rope. It doesn't kill me to not have the keyless working, but it is a pain in the *** sometimes.
If someone could suggest something, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Get an aftermarket alarm system. It'll pulse your keyless lock system plus it'll protect your car from the theives.
This applies to the US models.. not sure about the Canadian models. The 96-98 models used the radio to control it, in 99-00 models, they moved it to the drivers kick panel. It'll be a whiteish box that has one plug. It's located under the hood release.
Look for the green wire with an orange stripe and a red wire with a blue stripe. For fun you can take a jumper wire on a +12v source and touch the contact of one of those wires in the back of that plug. The locks should actuate. I don't think it'll help at all but it's fun to do. lol. That's the spot where aftermarkey keyless systems would attach.
