compression test
so we did a compression test for my buddy's gsr swaped coupe and we got a 135 psi across. i've been reading across a few write ups saying you crank the motor a few time, and some just one until the needle settles then that is the psi. which is right? he redid the test cranking it a few times on and off and got 245 psi across. i know this was not possible because the car feels weaker than normal and this motor is having leaking problems. so what is the correct procedure? sit there and crank/hold the ignition once until it doesn't go any more or keep cranking on and off until the max psi is acheived?
wrong place buddy, but you're supposed to pull the fuse for your fuel injection, hold the gas pedal all the way down, crank the engine five times, and voila! you have your psi reading.
here's a DIY; very good write-ups on this site

you're not getting my point, do you hold the key in one spot while the motor is cranking for 5 revolutions or do you keep turning the key 5 times? i was just curious because my buddy cranked the key in the ignition 5 times.
i believe 5 revolutions, not 5 different times, but if you want to test those numbers it doesn't hurt to try 5 more times. also, if you want to test for leaks, do a comp test a second time and put a tiny drop of oil into the cylinder, if it reads higher then you have a leak (piston rings). if that doesn't work then probably a complete leakdown test to find out whether it's your top or bottom end that's leaking pressure
