$1k offer for for B18c5, HELP PLEASE!
Ok I need some Major advise! A cousin of mine goes to UTI and friend of his who is selling b18c5 with 69k miles for $1,000.
I believe that the engine is apart thats why he is selling it cuz he was planning to mod it but had no time or money to work on it so he just sold his tranny to someone and now he has the engine in couple pieces.
My cousin is a WV freak but I told him that if he gets chance to take a look at the engine take as much pictures as possible of everything (batches, vin, damages, etc.)
Well I have an brand new engine in my car already with only 10k miles but shoot $1,000 deal sounds too tempting. So my question is should I go for it? And what should my main precautions be in order not to get jipped?

Firstly, paragraphs would be epic for your question.
Secondly, the first thing you must always do is run the VIN number with the department of transportation and local law enforcement.
If it's a legal engine, next thing to do is get some kind of compression and leak down check performed on it to help you guage the health of it.
$1,000 sounds a bit fishy.

I'll definitely will check the VIN as soon as I will get hands on it, BUT the leak down check will be a problem cuz its actually apart, so the only good inspection I can do is to do a visual check of parts
If the engine in pieces usually means that it has a problem. At this stage, close and careful inspection is all you can do. If the parts look good, $1000 is a steal
