Default Cheking ECU Code? (Is this the right plug?)

UPDATE: #2
I just don't understand. I just used an actual paperclip and jumped the plug. Put the key in ON position. The check engine light lit up and doesn't blink of go off. While still having the key in ON position I removed the paperclip and the check engine light turned off. WEIRD

UPDATE: #1
OK, so I jumped the plug. When when I turn the key into 2nd position the Check engine lights up but doesn't blink and stays on. What does that mean?

Read through a bunch of FAQ's about how to check ECU codes, but they always mention blue plug with Red/White wires. But after looking for 20 min I can't find that plug. So I took pictures of what I think is the plug everyone is talking about. So look and tell!

When I first did this, I tried an actual paper clip. I never got a reading... I snipped a piece of wire later, and used it instead. I got the code and went from there.

Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is to make sure your jumper wire is disconnected when you turn off your car (don't jump the connector until your key is out of the ignition).

I hope this helps. GL!

I think the connection wasn't right. You might want to try it again. Move the paperclip around and make sure its touching where it should be.

Could it be that I swapped my Gauge Cluster. I had the one without Tach and put in one from an EX auto that has a tach (I have manual). Probably wont make a difference but now I am just trying to troubleshoot.

Its the brown and green wire one....Paper clip is fine, just jam it in there...I used to read my codes for my B18C all the time when I had my hatch (Check Engine Light for Knock Sensor)...Well if it does not blink at you, then you my friend are in good order...
