Bose in RXS-S lost volume and won't eject CD's?
Hi everyone.
Today while loading CD's all went well. after they loaded I had no volume control (Very quiet) and the CD's won't eject.
I checked the fuse under the dash, it was ok. All the function keys work and the numbers display but I also noticed there was no backlight either.
Is there another fuse for this system or does it all run off the one under the dash?
Thanks for your time.

Yea my thoughts on it. but would it be the headunit or the amp under the seat?
Guess it's time to yank it all out and replace with an Alpine.
Thanks for the reply.

Did you use a test light to check the fuse or did you just look at it. Sometimes they'll be blown but won't look it. Just a thought. If you plan to upgrade it anyway, might as well use this as an excuse.
No I didn't do the test light. Just a visual. It's odd that the unit comes on and displays, Just no volume control, Backlight, or CD or tape eject function. I think if the fuse under the dash was blown the unit wouldn't even power up at all.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out.

Update...... I did disconnect the battery and tried entering the code to see if something would "reset". All I got was my tape back (guess it spit it out after powering back up), Everything else is still the same as mentioned above. It will take CD's in, just won't give them back LOL

~*UPDATE*~
I looked into it today and decided I'd pull the HU out. My daughter told me they went over a pretty good bump due to some construction on the road.
I thought I'd pull the HU out and check connections. First thing I noticed, the 2 screws were not holding the HU in. So as I began to pull the HU out as I slid it forward I noticed the Security light came back on. So I put the key in and wala. it all worked.
I was going to pull the HU out and check the plugin's and as I was trying to take the face off (Bottom left side first) I noticed the Red light quit blinking, so I pressed the face back on and it began to blink again. It didn't take much separation of the face to cause the light to stop blinking.
I ended up finding a screw that would work in my junk box of screws and tightened down the left side so it wouldn't move. Evidently when she hit that Dip/Bump it was hard enough to cause the HU to separate from the faceplate ever so slightly causing the system to fail.
We bought this car about 6 weeks ago and evidently the person had an aftermarket system with the Bose intergraded plug-in, He decided to sell the car and removed his HU and just slid in the old one.
I'm glad I was able to trace this because she was not happy finding out you have to change everything to go aftermarket so she could hook up the Ipod.
Well that is repaired, Now the Damn hatch won't open. *SHEESH*!!!!
