Default Throwing a random CEL..

Well, I JUST noticed my speedo wasnt working and my CEL popped on.. I restarted my car and the CEL didnt come on but my speedo still didnt work, Think the connection to some sensor is loose or something? It randomly decides to work and when not to work, or when i am high revs it usually works..

sounds like a connection to your speed sensor, depending on your tranny type could be a pain in the @$$... If could also be a bad speedo... does the odometer work. Normally if the speed sensor goes out it will throw a CEL, but if the speedo were bad, it wouldn't...

sounds like the vehicle speed sensor or the connection to it.

well if the odometer works its probably the gauge itself. the odometer works off of the speedometer. so its probably something in the gauge cluster. but the vss is on the top of the transmission. its a little grey connector.
