First off, I have a 96 EX and I'll spare the rest of the mods. Anyway, I was stoked about my coilovers and putting them on this weekend; however, on the first damper I go to pull off i find out the that allen socket that needs to be held in place is stripped, probably by the tard I bought it from and yes I now realize I made a little mistake, oh well. I am unsure of what to try to get off the top hat. So, if anyone can supply me alternatives, that would be appreciated. If not I'll just buy new or used struts.

The top nuts will come off if you use an impact, air or electric. Also if you are putting your coil-over sleeves and springs on stock shocks then you will quickly kill off what little decent function remains in your old shocks and be buying yourself new shocks. If you can afford to buy new set of performance shocks now, you will save yourself one full round of installtion, the extra trouble with these stripped hexes and have a better working package and handling in the long run.

Yeah, I think that I am just going to go with some Tokicos or something because like yous said, it is going to save me a lot of grief and I will know it is done right. I don't really need uber performance, I was just trying to get my car a little higher because when I bought it, it had a 2.5" drop and it was messing up my bottom end, even when I was being careful over bumps and what not. I also just found out my CV boot is torn oh well. It wouldn't be a project if it didn't need work, and I have money to spare, ha ha.
