So I got two front seats from a friend that has a 95 civic ex coupe. I wanted to swap them into my 97 civic ex coupe because my driver's side seat is ripped pretty bad -- plus I like the headrest setup on the EG civic's.. Problem is only 3 of the 4 bolts line up, the eg seat rail is ~1 inch too short to fit into my car.
So, I was thinking of switching the seat rails (the entire piece) and then they would fit perfect in my EK coupe. Problem is when I was working on the passenger side eg seat rail, I couldn't remove the one bolt the bolts the rail to the seat -- so I was unable to put the eg seats in my 6th gen civic.. It seemed like the fabric had to be removed to get off the last bolt -- so I didn't bother.
I know they're supposed to fit -- but I don't know how to get them to work.
Yes -- I searched and didn't find anything useful in the first 40 posts.

I had some seats from my friends 94 coupe in my 99. I swapped rails and I don't remember having any problems like that with mine. What bolt are you talking about? I ask that because I have 2 pairs of eg seats in my garage with rails I can look at.
I looked at the seats... The only bolt I can think that you are talking about is on the seatbelt side front bolt. On mine it is kinda covered but I'm able to just move the fabric out of the way. Is that the bolt you are talking about?

No, I was able to move the fabric just like you did to get to that bolt. According to my helms manual -- there's two bolts on the side where you had to move the fabric to get to that one bolt.. I tried popping it loose from the eg seat and it won't come loose..

First pic -- no problems there:

The circled bolt is the problem bolt -- can't figure out how to move the seat fabric out of the way without ruining it.
