I believe it's a specialty part meaning you'll need to order it through the dealership. You'll need that dust boot as well as the collar inside.

Actually, the dust boot holds in grease (lithium) and pivots the shifter on the stabilizer bar. Without grease in the boot, the shifting will be very tough and notchy.

ok the holding grease makes sense. but why when i tore the rubber i put the shifter in just to go to the store, and my throws seemed further and really sloppy compared even to stock? i'm not disagreeing with you, but i guess questioning my own experience.

without the boot, did the shifter drop? Like did you have to hold the shifter up to shift gears because the shifter didnt want to stay there? Thats how mine is right now, I dont have the boot

no mine didn't fall down. do you have those two bolts that hold the shifter in place on there. i think its like 2 10mm bolts on a bracket that hold the shifter up.

ya, I have the 2 bolts that hold it up, the ball part just falls down the hole where it goes up. Im guessing the boot holds it snugly up there

Yeah, basically you have the stabilizer bar and you have that plate beneath it (2 10mm bolts). Those two sandwich the dust boot in making everything tight. Without the boot, there will definitely be a lot of play.
