hondata? what makes it different than chipped ecu? odb2?

so my car is odb2 and i dont want to go to odb1 cuz my engine wasnt swapped and i know a chipped ecu is meant for swapped engines. im not planning on boosting the car, i just want to go all motor. will hondata do the same job that a chipped ecu would do even tho im not going to tune it for a boost application and since my engine isnt swapped?
Who told you that a chipped ECU is for cars that have had engine swaps? Find that somebody and run them over. Spreading that kind of stupid nonsense......well, it's stupid.

with honda you have your a/f ratio programmed for your specific car.
a "chip" in most cases is a piece of crap that people buy off of ebay and is in now way programmed for your car.

He's talking about a CHIPPED ECU. As in programmable. Used for running Crome, Uberdata, etc.

so i can chip my ecu ...well if i get a p28 and not worry about it if i tune it then? i cant really afford hondata at the moment. but i really want to know if id be wasting my time chipping it cuz i dont want any problems. i already have the odb2-1 harness. so am i good? even if my engine is pretty much odb2, im good as long as i change my ecu to odb1? cuz this is the original motor. cuz if so, i can do this pretty soon. i jst dont want to waste my time.

It's a little more difficult then just changing over the ECU. A P28 running CROME would be fine for what you are probably looking to get from your car.

and either jumb your obd2 harness or get this

ohh ok, that makes a lot of sense now. so i am going to chip my ecu and run it on chrome. that seems fairly easy. as long as i run my ecu odb2-1, i shouldnt have any problems then? like the knock sensor wont come on?

The P28 has no knock sensor, and if you have no electronics knowledge i.e. soldiering don't even try to chip your ecu or you will be kicking your *** when you burn the board. Any knowledgeable shop that tunes Honda motors will know CROME.

ehh your right. i should prolly wait till i know a lil more about it before i do it. cuz i dont know much of anything about chipping and running chrome and tuning.

Just go to the link above and just start reading, that is how most all of us learned. And any tuner will take the time to explain what you will need to get a foot in the right direction.
