Tuners: Hondata S2b
Since I can't get an answer in the engine management section I'll repost here:
Hey guys, I have searched around and really can't find the answer I'm looking for anywhere. I have no clue about tuning but have a really simple question. I put together a street car and have been out of the game for a while. I used someones setup and old hondata s2b ecu. The car won't idle and shuts off when letting off gas so I think the ecu just needs an tps calibration. Is there anyway to still tune this old hondata ecu with the bridge and chip setup? I don't have the money to go to s300. Is there an another ecu program such as chrome or uberdata that i can tune with and burn a chip for the ecu just like the old days so I don't have to spend money and get another ecu modified?

Re: Tuners: Hondata S2b
I saw this in the Engine management section. Basically, most people here were too young before they could drive when the S2B came out. (Hell, that was just before the Staged versions). This was Hondata's very first logging system back in 1997-1998. Most of the people here were perhaps 10-11 yrs old. I know you've been out of the game for a bit, but honestly, considering that Hondata themselves stopped even giving support or updates on the laptop for this version almost 10 years ago, you may want to be able to either go for something else or get another version. You DON'T have to get S300 if you don't want to (even the S100-S200 could work), but the older S2bs, I haven't disected since about 2002, and I don't remember that much for it in the area of diagnosis. If you don't want the S200 (someone has one somewhere), it may be time to get something at least a bit less dated (even if not Hondata) to continue... Or, go back to stock for now, and go from there.
I have a feeling you're going to have as much luck here as you did in the Engine Management section.

Re: Tuners: Hondata S2b
Yeah I pretty much figured most people won't know what the S2b is. So basically I'm just trying to see if the other programs such as possibly chrome still uses a 28 pin chip base ecu setup so possibly all I would have to do is get tuned from someone that tunes chrome and the chip be burnt. Also can a chip burnt by chrome just be put into the old style hondata bridge and work.
I also have a neptune ecu somewhere.
