I was just thinking back to my first car which was a 95 bmw 325is(worked my *** for it) and right before i sold it, altnerator went costing me $600 at 115k.

Anyway, Im wondering how long everyones alternator has lastest on their cars, I'm at 112k, motor is strong and i do alot of driving, some long distance so I'm debatin replacing it unless they are rated for a while.

Car is a 96 Ls integra with most modifications up to date..timing belt, fluid changes etc which shouldnt make a difference.

Any input is a plus since most people have their different experiences with their cars. thanks

12yrs and 135k miles, still origional alternator. Had muiltiple stereo systems and electronics in the car also.

 

If it did go, you might find that it only needs new brushes<FONT SIZE="0">(for lack of a better word)</FONT> inside.

 

282,000 miles on a 1982 honda accord

145,000 on my 98 GSR

replaced nothing on both

 

93 civic oem 180k miles
83 toyota pickup oem 353k miles
97 GSR oem 88k miles
98 GSR oem 160k miles

 

99 Gs-R 107,000 miles.

 

this is good news, thanks 4 the input i guess i wont even think about it now.
