never run over a pipe on the freeway
while driving on the freeway a pick up truck in front of me dropped a metal pipe. the pipe i would say was around a foot long and around 3 inches thick. i ended up running over the pipe then VOILA! although, i am happy that nothing really bad happened. phew.
does anyone know why my left side headlight (the side i got hit on) doesnt work but the highbeam works.
its a 2002, if that matters.

Yeah, you got lucky. I had a truck drop a nice four foot, 4"x4" piece of pressure treated lumber in front of me on the highway. It bent the heck out of one wheel, mangled the ball joint, and destroyed the compliance bushings on the passenger side of the car's LCA.
Luckily, I had a junkyard that had those parts, nearby.

Well, I would say yes, since it's much cheaper through some online Honda parts distributors. Is $240 including paint?

No, I was perfectly fine. Luckily I was in the slow lane, and the 4x4 hit my passenger side front wheel. I instantly lost air pressure, and was pretty much brought to a dead stop pretty quick.
The headlight bulb itself could be internally damaged from a hard impact like that. Test your passenger side bulb in the driver's side socket, to see if that's the issue. If it isn't, then maybe a fuse or some wiring is to blame.

that had to be a good size pipe! by chance did the low beam filament burnout? mine just did that the other day. i could only use my high beam. it's weird though bc it doesn't work now after the pipe took a piece of you

can you do anything about it though? if say you got the persons license plate number</TD></TR></TABLE>
a officer pretty much told me this, i dont know about other states but if you run over something on the freeway/highway and damages your car, nobodys at fault,(your out of luck) if the vehicle in front of you ran over some object and hit your car, nobodys at fault,(your out of luck), if something flew/fell off the persons vehicle and saw it, its their fault and they should pay for damage, call police and get report, dont know if i explain it well but its late
when a suv ran over a fat chunk of tire ob the road and hit my windshield, i was mad so i got the plates, car make...blah blah blah, call police and said too bad, cant do anything

Your laws must be different than ours up here, because if you don't have your load secured in a pickup, lose some cargo, and it damages the vehicle(s) behind yours, you're held liable for damages.
