Default "Idle" problem.

Hi all. I need a little help. I have a Civic 99 with a B16A engine on it. When the motor is hot and after a few seconds of idle, it starts giving me a little problem. When I hit the gas a little bit and the RPMs hit 1.5, it stops there and won't keep going to higher RPMs, instead it drops to 1.0 and goes up again to 1.5 and down again to 1.0. That's just when I hit the gas just a little bit but when I hit the gas all the way down it will pass 1.5 RPMs and hit the red line without a problem. Now if when I'm idling, before it starts the problem, I hit the gas a little bit and maintain the RPMs at 1.5, then it won't start doing it (stopping at 1.5).

For example, I start the car at home and leave. I stop a the red light and let the car idle. When the light goes green, I put 1st gear and go and when it hits 1.5 RPMs it stops and goes down to 1.0 and up again to 1.5 and back down. It looks like when you start learning how to drive standard that the car shakes forward and backwards like crazy. Again, if I hit the gas all the way down like if I was racing it will pass 1.5 RPMs. What could be causing this problem?

iacv, idle air control valve. Take it off and clean/replace it. Check coolant levels too.

It can, sometimes bleeding the coolant system will help. But a lot of the time, if its when cold its the fitv if its when motors warm then the iacv.

well, i put an all new iac on it and nothing changed. it fixes itself every now and again. Wat is the fitv? and would mine be caused by the coolant.
