ITR/CTR exhaust cam waste of money?
00-01 USDM ITR cams are same spec as JDM B16B CTR cams.
i have upgraded both CTR intake and exhaust cams on my b16a, i have heard so many people stated that only intake cam makes the differences in hp and perfomance gains. exhaust cam is almost as same as regular b16a or b18c1.
and in fact, brand new CTR exhaust cam costs more than brand new CTR intake cam
so what do you guys think exhaust cam really makes any differences?
thanks

pro1s and ctr cam specs are different....
duration on the pro1 are 264 and CTRs duration is only 243. so they are completely different. and also pro1s recommend pro valvetrain while you can still run oem valvetrain with CTRs
to answer your question... i dont think its worth the money to change out. you will see minor gains at the most. but if you already have them you might as well use them.

The ITR and CTR intake cam is different, but the exhaust is the same..... The CTR intake cam is better...... Dont buy the shunk2 stage 1's....... People have proven the the CTR/ITR cams make more HP on builds than stage 1's, and sometimes stage 2's even..... I would stick with the type r cams.....

Can you provide further info on this please?

I'd like to see some dyno comparisons. I doubt there's that big of a statistical variation from CTR/ITRs to any stage 1 aftermarket cam. Stage 2 and Stage 3s, of course, can offer much more power with a full setup, at the cost of daily driverability.

People that I know here in Tampa have had both stage1s, and stage2s, in their usdm itrs, and they have stated that they wish they would have never gotten rid of the itr cams..... No I dont have dyno sheets to have solid prof, but these people are a reliable source...

i think we are getting off the topic. i didnt ask any aftermarket cams..i simply ask if exhaust cam can really make a different in b16 or b18c engines.

says that the CTR/ITR exaust cams are substancially bigger

Personally if i were going to do one i would do the other. However I would try to get as much as possible out of it as possible. Are you running high comp pistons or boost?
if so, if you add an aftermarket valve train where you could rev the ITR/CTR cams and get the most out of them.
Otherwise if your just running to the stock compression on a b16 or GSR i wouldn't spend the extra money on the exhaust cam unless you really have the money. Sure it will help but to me a few extra hp is not worth a few hundred bucks.

yeah i have already installed CTR cams (intake and exhaust) and CTR high compression pistons and a dyno tune before i post this question.
cause i know CTR/ITR exhaust cam is similar to stock B16A exhaust cam.thats why i ask if it is worth of money to buy exhuast cam. because when i buy oem CTR cams, intake and exhaust cams are sold separately.
and i appreciate everyone's answer
