can someone help me with compression test.h22
i am gonna do a compression test on my h22a4 and i am trying to find out what numbers i should be expecting. i tried to go scoop up a haynes or chilton book but i cant find any at the local auto parts stores around here. can someone just give me some quick help on the numbers i should be looking to get. thanks alot for any help thrown my way
compression depends on the motors mileage, gauge used, etc...i did my comp test and mine had 240,235,240,240...what you want is for the numbers to be consistent and not differ more than 15% or so
thanks that does help, what tester did u use, just asking because i know for a gsr the haynes manual says the tester should read @ 180 on each cylinder. and i heard people saying theres was up over 220. makes no sense. do u have a manual u could tell me the numbers from
that's because most of the compression testers that people buy aren't very accurate like a snap on one would be. It doesn't really matter as much though if it's a bit off it just matters that each cylinder is consistant and in the area of 15% difference in psi between cylinders. Make sure to disable your ignition system before doing ur compression test though, just pull the plugs to the distributor.
