How to change out a throw out bearing
Is the throw out bearing on the tranny or on the clutch, just wanna know that, and how do i change it out. all i know so far is that i have to drop the tranny but i dont know how to change out the throw out bearing can anybody give me directions and l3t me know whats up.. thanks..
It's part of your clutch, and you will only hear it when the clutch is pressed in. It presses against the rotating pressure plate of the clutch, disengaging your transmission (clutch disc) from your engine (pressure plate).
Get your shop manual here:

It's not very hard, with simple tools it can be changed in a couple hours. New clutches usually come with a throw out bearing, so you probably want to consdier that also.

If thats all your changing its pretty easy.
1. remove mounts/slave cylinder
2. Drop transmission
3. Remove bearing and remove the fork
4. Put back bearing and fork together
5. assemble everything together.
if your clutch is a little worn it will be good to replace it since you have everything off.

Do not add grease, they come sealed with grease inside.
Here is a pic of my clutch and you can see in green where the throwout bearing engages the pressure plate.

Sure, the throwoutbearing is good, but what about the greasing the shaft off the trans?
