Do you plan on soldering the chip in yourself? The K-Pro unit is an on-board solder-in chip.

the civic is a 97 and the k20 is out of a 06 rsx type s...i have the computer out of it but when the car was set on fire it destroyed the stock ecu so i would really just like to buy a k pro straight up no reflashing or any of that stuff if its possible.

k pro is not a standalone it's actually a modifed honda ecu (thats more than im probably allowed to tell you yes i am afraid of hondata and their past shows they have money to f with people )

so ill try to reveal as little as possible to keep my *** out of a lawsuit.

you need a working legit ecu (02-04 and now 05-06 for a little more) and you need to send it in...........

or you can locate a dealer and they will do it for you in store/shop

the hondata reflash is simply a new ROM uploaded to the ECU (there is soooo much more info i want to tell you about this but nobody wants to get in trouble!)

there is nohing comparable.............. but the AEM EMS is right there in the price range with a greater control of everything, only downfall = more work to get the standalone wired in it's not plug and play like hondata

ok...I've come across a problem in my research with the hondata kpro...i heard that the vss sensor in the 05-06tranny is different from that in the 02-04tranny and the hondata kpro does not read the vss sensor in the 05-06tranny so i was told my best bet is to buy a 02-04 type s tranny to use with my 05-06 motor and ill be good to go...have you ever heard about this problem and is there any easy way around it other than wiring the car myself?

ok...i found a place that sells the k pro ecu (k20tuned.com the guy a few posts back gave me the site thanks alot!!) so in order for that to work with my 05-06 tranny i just need to add on an adapter harness to my list of parts? am i correct or am i confusing myself?

You should only buy from the delaers listed at http://www.hondata.com/dealers.html

Buying from anyone else you are taking a risk as they are not an authorized dealer. Buying from ebay is even worse as you may end up buying a damaged ecu. Hondata does not allow it's dealers to sell on ebay.

alright you seem to be a little confused. you don't have to swap trans casses, just have to mess with the speedo in the trans casing.

the rsx dash isn't a great fit it'll fit but w/e you're speedo/tach still operates with the conversion harness.

YOU DO NOT REWIRE THE ENTIRE CAR WHEN YOU DO A K SWAP EVERYBODY THINKS YOU DO BECUASE THEY SEE THE HARNESS FOR SALE

THE HARNESSE IS A PLUG AND PLAY EINGINE BAY HARNESS, IT PLUGS INTO BOTH SIDES OF THE INTERIOR BAY HARNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the swap is easier than you're making it man. i seriously suggest you slow down and read the actual instruction manuals that came with the parts you bought!

if you don't have it download hybrid racing's mount kit install guides, and download k-pro's install guide then go download either hybrid racings PNP harness install then read them ALL three times THEN come back here and ask your questions.

it's almost easier for me to just run over there and do your swap for you! (it's hard to explain man, plus i finished my swap 6+ months ago so it's hard to rember this ****)
