Default Ls Vtec questions?

Alright I have a DC LS and I have been looking into goin Vtec soon. I have a rough idea about the parts I need but I still have a few questions. Im asking becuase I want an anwser from someone who has actually had one or built one. I know this will most likely be cheaper than getting a GSR swap so Im certain I want to do this. I just want some feedback from People out there so I wont make a mistake.
1. How much am I looking to spend in parts & labor?
2. Reliability?
3. How much power am I looking at with stock internals?
4. Which transmission is best for a Ls Vtec setup?
5. Is it really worth it?
Im not gonna be racing or anything but I want to know that I have the speed.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1676914 <----I got plenty of information from this but I still want to know for sure.

worth is defined by the person willing to spend the money.

Firsts things first. I dont believe in ls vtec for the reason if it was so great why didnt honda make it in the first place? People who do ls vtec just dont have the money to do swaps. If its done right it will last, but you will be making around the same power as a gsr... Ive heard, but im cant back it up that they make more torque, but not sure. If you are going to do it make sure you do it right cause if you dont you will be back on here asking why it wont run right. I would do a poor mans type r.... gsr bottom end and b16 head....

haha gtfo! yeah i guess i didnt have the money for a gsr swap...i only spent double the cost of one to build a good ls/vtec thats good for 200whp, and 13.2ish 1/4's with no headwork.

do some research...read bambams thread. they are plenty reliable if you do it right, and can easily make more than a b18c1/c5 changeover.

but i guess d-robs only lasting 30k miles of abuse means they arent reliable....

Well im not trying to do any head work or bottom end work. I want stock internals and of course im paying to have it assmebled so I wont make a mistake. Im not trying to create a "beast", i just want an alright car. On top of everything its only temporary until I decide If I should go K-series or H2B.

Thats like saying "If God had meant for man to fly He would have given us wings"
So what if Honda didn't build an 1834cc Vtec engine. That doesn't mean it won't work properly. It is, after all, built with Honda parts. I wouldn't say LSVTEC'ers do not have the money for a swap. If you have an LS in your Civic, wouldn't that be considered a swap?
Yes, they do last if done properly and they do make more torque than a B16 or B18c1, all things stock.

i did all the labor myself, its not hard at all...? and it still cost me around 900 bucks. im using an ls tranny i like it for highway driving but i wanna get a shorter geared one. also ive seen what happens when rod bolts break and its not pretty, u can destroy ur entire motor. but not to scare u. if ur gonna have the car to redline u might wanna do somehthing? but if ur just gonna drive it normal u shud be fine. and yea if u no anything about motors... a stock lsv will make more power than a gsr the vtec motors are just built to perfection and will rev all day.
