Default VTEC does not kick in loud

k, so this is kind of a rant, but YOU CAN NOT HEAR VTEC. when the engine gets loud all of the sudden around 6k rpm, that is the throttle body openinging all of the way up. When it is stock, you can feel the torque increase

Ive driven stock and bolt-on RSX-Ss before. VTEC is not a sudden feel of torque. Its supposed to be a smooth transition. From what I know, VTEC should be engaging around the 6k rpm mark.

Dude...if vtec is tuned correctly on stock or stock-ish cams you should not 'feel' anything. Power should be linear.

vtec is not a turbo.

As soon as Vtec engages it sounds like a jet engine taking off and everything starts to shake and move in slow motion because you're going so fast. /thread.

Vtec should be a smooth transition.

It shouldn't feel like boost kicking in.

exactly, if you want the sound get a bseries, more specifically a b16. ive had one and a gsr before, but the ivtec is way more linear and smoother transition.
