first, post in the right forum. second, either you are low on fluid, or your slave cylinder or master cylinder needs to be replaced. is there fluid on either? aka, are any seals leaking?

newer hondas have "hydraulic" clutches which the fluid would be brake fluid.

ya i know, i was just messing cuz he said brake fluid but it dont matter sorry if you thought i was being critical

but as for a question...
to get this post on topic of pre 88 clutches,...

My 86 clutch wont fully disengage, it starts grabbing about 1/3 the way from the floor and is fully engaged 1/4 from the top ..

so from the floor to where it starts engaging it should be released but it feels like it's feathering... causing me to have to sncronize my shifting and shut the motor off to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa it makes shifting a pain and unsafe

I had my neighbor push in the chutch while i watched the operatin and the arm that pushes on the throwout bearing keeps moving throught the range of the pedal.... even to the floor i adjusted the free play down to nearly nothing to get the most out of the pedal but it doesn't seem to make any difference and is getting worse as i drive it..

any ideas??

at first i thought it would have been a cable,
but the throwout ARM keeps moving after the "disengagement" point
wereas if it were the cable would't it stop where it was feathering at?...

does that make sense?

makes sense. maybe pressure plate is bad? or something with the throwout bearing.. our clutch assemblies are extremely primitive, so it can't be too hard to figure it out.
