update on my friends 97 accord problem. We got the engine codes. Help?
Ok so if you've followed my other threads you'll see that my friends accord had problems with his engine. We plugged in a computer (forgot the actual name for it) and got all the engine codes off of it as to why the CEL was on.
Anyway, any help identifying these is appreciated. As well as how to fix it.
P0100A- MAF/VAF
P0102A- LOW INPUT CIRCUIT
P0103A- MAF
P0106- MAP- CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT
P0104- MAF/VAF CIRCUIT
P0105- MAP/BAOARD CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

Looks to me like he fried his Mass Air Flow sensor or somehow took it off. The Prelude came stock with a MAF, so I am pretty sure its either gone belly up, or he took it off. The Mass Air Flow Sensor is what tells the ECU how much air is going into the engine and what to do with it. If it dies or is taken off, the engine doesn't know what to do with the air, and most probably won't run at all.
90-2000 PGM-FI Honda's don't use a MAF that I know of. Actually I don't think that any of them do maybe the newer ones??? Most use a MAP and an IAT sensor to gauge the amount and temperature of the incoming air. So I would say that you have something wrong with your MAP sensor. Make sure that the TPS and MAP sensor 3P connectors didn't get switched by mistake.
