Default Setting the rev limmiter on ls/vtec

I am putting a gsr head on my car next week and I need to know what to set the rev limiter at. I have done some reading here and there about the rod bolts stretching around 7,000 rpm's. I don't have the money to reinforce my bottom end, and the head that's on my car is no good, so I am putting this thing on to drive it, and I don't care about rpm's and power, so would you guys think that 7,200 rpm's would be safe on a b18b with a 140,00 miles on the clock?

the vtec head won't help reliabilty with the bottom ends revving so you should consider the stock ls redline as ur own.

That's what I am thinking. I was told by so many people that it is safe to take it to 7,200, and a few said 7,400, but I don't want to risk my bottom end over a couple hundred rpm's you know? It's in a civic allready, so as long as I put it together right and tune it right, than it should be quick enough for me, even if I keep the rev limiter set at 7,000.

you could just mildly build the bottom end so it can hold up higher revving, therefore you could make more use of the vtec. but even with built bottom ends the ls block probably shouldnt even be revved past like 7800 so its a matter of how much you want to spend.

true that they can, just not necessarily the safest especially when your goal is to not blow up the motor.
