Default is my car suppose to have an EGR valve PLEASE HELP CEL problem

i have a 1995 vx. it has a d16z6 motor swap in it. is it suppose to have an egr valve. i took it to get smogged and the guys would not smog it becasue the on the hood ( which is for a vx motor ) there is the emission diagram. and it shows the car as having an egr. and the smog was telling me that i did not have an egr valve on and he told me i had to get a new intake manifold with an egr valve on it.

im also getting a CEL with the code of 80 which is egr valve/line. i only get teh CEL when i down shift or the car is DEcelerating for more then 20-30 seconds. but it is a soft CEL becasue i can turn the car off trhen back on and the CEL is gone.

ANYONE please help me figure out my delima. is there any way to bypass the egr, if my car is even suppose to have one. thanks in advance for any help.

the code sets when you decelerate becuase thats the condition it needs to see to do a self test. what happens is when you let off the gas completely from a high speed the ecm know what the vacuum should be for a given rpm uner these conditions, so when it opens the egr wile still decelerating the map sensor sees an appropriate variance in vacuum to know the valve not only moves, but can flow correctly. if the ecm is for your motor and your thrown a code for a egr, then the manifold you have is probably illegal since it has no egr port, let alone the exhaust header or manifold where it gets the exhaust supply to the egr. i am not positive the pipe goes to where exactly on your car, but i do know thats how egr works. and the whole point of having it is when applied, it recirculates exhaust into the intake, so as to have less burnable air, so it lowers combustion temperatures, and that lowers NOx emissions.

yeah thats whay its called an EGR valve exhaust gas recirculation valve. i know that it is and i know what it does and how it works. i just want to know why the code is getting throwin. the motor in the car is BONE stock it is just a d16z6 swap. the intake manifold is stock so what im asking is should the be a port or plug, or line, or anything onthere that is for an egr can i go get an edg valve from the junkyard and put it on.

i cant stand downshifting to go through turns then having the cel come on its so annoying.

any help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
