b16a3 hatch question
so last night my friend calls me and says his car was running like **** then it just died on him , so today we sent him to get parts (cap , rotor , plugs ,wires) pretty much just tune up parts . so when he goes to do the tune up he gets to the rotor and is stumped so he calls me, i tell him have someone crank the car a little at a time until you see a small phillips head screw losen it and pull the it off . but he tells me there is no screw . im thinking this kids a retard so i drive up there and sure enough there is no screw ... i remember reading somewhere that some have a screw and some dont , so the question is how does this style rotor come off. just pry it or is the some trick of the trade that im missing

Maybe the bolt is under the leak cover. Try taking that off first and see what you find. Make sure he replaces the Coil those are pretty common to go out.
Take the cap off.....then the dust shield pops right off, now you will have access to the rotor and its mounting point. The screw should be there, if not, it my be rolling around inside the dizzy (not good). I hope you locate it, if not put one it with the new rotor
the dust shield has to come off after the rotor , trust me there is no screw . we even turned the motor slow with a socket on the crank ..no screw

Sounds like you have one of the aftermarket rotors that doesn't use a screw.
The screwless rotors just push on and pull off. However, they are very difficult to remove from the shaft. You have to pull pretty hard.
