Default A vtec controller question

Hey If I gett a vtec controller wich is apexi and I will use it on a 95 b18c1(gsr), will it give me any gains? I got stock ecu and ALL STOCK MOTOR. Its in a 95 civic si. BTW thats true that intake valves on gsr go off at like 6.5 and the exhaust go off at like 4.5..........right? so if I get my vtec controller, were should I adjust the vtec for the best performance and reliability? THANX

vtec controler is lil useless

chip the ecu and u will be able to tune your motor and adjust the vtec point cheaper better

why do you want to change the vtec engagement point? do you actually know what vtec is or do you just think it magically makes cars faster? you have a stock motor with stock ecu, unless you think you know something that honda doesn't, maybe you should leave it (the engagement point) alone.

Which ecu are you running? The stock P72 ecu or the stock p28 that came with your si? As long as your usdm GSR motor has little or no modifications you should really keep your money in your pocket and forget about getting a Vtec controller... Even then, I'd do what everyone else on here has said before me and get a chipped ECU (or even chip your ecu, either or even BOTH). The P72 is only different from the P28 in the sense that it has a knock board soldered into the ecu. If it is already socketed for chipping then you're good to go. I'd suggest finding a local tuner on http://pgmfi.org who can help you out. I would, but you're probably too far away from me.

please dont buy a piggy back controller/vtec controller. the money you spend on that can go to something more productive besides if you chip your ecu, and your tuner is badass then he can do stuff like put a launch rpm limiter turn your check engine light to a shift light and he wont let you do anything that will expletive up your car.
