gsr oil/water pumps??
ok so i have an obd2 ls motor and its not in my car yet i just got it last week i just bought a new timing belt and headgasket for it... i was wondering because i've seen a lot of people using gsr oil and water pumps on ls motors whats the difference/advantage in using them?? thanks
i dont know if there really is a difference or advantage to them... the only reason they are different is because of VTEC. I guess they may be a lil bit more durable if they are for VTEC motor cause of oil pressure being higher... RPM's typically too.
that sounds just about right.. because i want to change a few things before i throw this motor in and the water pump and oil pump are on that list just wanted to know why so many people use these pumps
i believe all ls motors 98+ also had the gsr oil pump my motor is a 97 so im just gonna buy the gsr oil pump anyways and just buy a ls water pump because i dont see what difference there would be in that
If you use the b18c water pump you MUST use the corresponding timing belt - there is a change in the number of ribs/teeth.
The water pump on the LS is fine for its redline. If you raise the redline without changing to a vtec water pump, you get cavitation, because it spins too fast.
As stated, all obd2 oil pumps are the same.
SEARCHING would have told you the answers to both of your questions

i already knew this... that wasnt my question i know that if i use a gsr water pump i have to use the corresponding timing belt, i simple asked the difference between the ls and gsr but on the other hand all obd2b oil pumps are the same NOT OBD2A so you my friend are wrong

All 96-01 integras use the same oil pump I know for sure. I'm almost definitive that the water pump will be the same. A 99-00 Civic Si oil/ water pump should be the same.
